It usually takes place in mid-April of the solar calendar and lasts 3 to 7 days. On the eve of the first day of this festival, activities include launching rockets and dragon boat rowing, etc. The second day is known as Neuter Day when people usually stay at home or go hunting in the mountains.

The third day falls on New Year’s Day. In the morning, people dress up and shoulder clean water to the temple to worship Buddha. Then they begin to splash water with one another for wishing luck, happiness and health. The more water one person is sprinkled, the more luck he or she will receive and the happier he or she will be. At night, music accompanied by drumbeats reverberates throughout the villages and people enjoy dancing and singing to their soul.
