News: The documentary “New Secrets of the Terracotta Warriors” has won the “Best Public Presentation of Archaeology” at the British Archaeological Awards 2014.

The documentary was co-filmed by Britain’s Lion Television and China Hong Kong’s Phoenix Television, and won this big awards. It was first broadcast on BBC Channel 4 on Dec. 8, 2013 as part of Channel 4’s Secret History series, and achieved nearly 3 million audience rating in the same time frame, the highest record in Britain.

It has also recently drawn unprecedented viewing numbers when the French version was broadcast by Arte in France and Germany, and another version of the film will be broadcast by NOVA in the US later this year.

The story is based on research by a team from the UCL ( University College London ) Institute of Archaeology, in collaboration with colleagues from the Emperor Qin Shihuang’s Mausoleum Site Museum in China.

In 1974, Chinese archaeologist discover Terracotta Warriors in Xian, a historical and cultural city. Since then, Terracotta Warriors captures the imagination of the world, and became a must-see destination in Xian for visitors coming to China.
