Both foreign and domestic public activists within China’s tourism industry got together in Yangshuo Town and hosted the 2014 China Yangshuo Sustainable Tourism Development Forum, aiming to explore new touristic trends, tourism strategies and opportunities that will benefit both entrepreneurs and visitors in this region.

This year’s forum looks at the continuous traveling trends, from 1983 onwards, and the impact nearby Guilin’s touristic internationalization has had on Yangshuo itself. The original and traditional ways of travel and services can no longer meet today’s tourists’ interests and needs. The Guilin’s tourism plans to offer different and more upscale services to present themselves to the wider audience, not just those privileged, to take the tourism industry to the next level.
