On March 24th, the international critique guide Time Out hosted its 2011 Food Award just a few days after the The Beijinger’s 8th Annual Reader Restaurants Awards.

Time Out Food Award 2011

The restaurants scene in Beijing is a growing market and the habit of eating out often is very common. The city offers plenty of good restaurants and even whole streets full of it. Choosing the best out of it might be a hard task.

Unlike this one and CityWeekend’s award, Time Out’s winners are not decided by the website’s readers but by a panel of five experienced food journalists listed below:

  • Lillian Chou: Time Out Dining Editor
  • Adrienne Mong: Beijing-based producer/correspondent for NBC News
  • David Pierson: Beijing correspondent for the LA Times
  • Keith Richburg: Foreign correspondent for The Washington Post
  • Tini Tran: Veteran foreign correspondent with The Associated Press.
