News about the Forbidden City Travel Restriction Due to the Military Parade
News: The Forbidden City will not open from Aug.22 to Sept. 3 Due to the Military Parade.
On Sept. 3, there will be a military parade held at Tian’anmen Square in Beijing to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the victory of the War of Chinese People’s Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War.
Tian’anmen Tower is closed from Aug. 1 to Sept.9 for the construction of the reviewing stand. Tourists should enter the Forbidden City through the Working People’s Cultural Palace or Zhongshan Park neighboring the tower. And the Forbidden City will not open to public from Aug. 22 to Sept.3.
Besides holding a military parade, China announced a three-day public holiday from Sept. 3 to Sept. 5. During this period, there will be some martial law and restrictions around Tian’anmen Square.
