Forbidden City started to sale Annual Tickets

News: From the Mid-October, the Forbidden City would start to sale the 2015 annual passes. Visitors can buy the tickets from its official website http://gugong.228.com.cn/ with their valid ID documents. Foreigners can use their passports, and entrust a travel agency to buy it. The annual passes is RMB300 for 10 times to enter into the Forbidden City. Most importantly, each valid ID document can be used only once. According to the statement, annual ticket can not be used during National Day holiday.

Lying at the center of Beijing city, Forbidden City, also called Gu Gong in Chinese, was the imperial palace for 24 emperors during the Ming and Qing dynasties. So far, it is the largest and well-preserved palace in the world. During the imperial period, all people were forbidden to enter without special permission of the emperor. So people call it “the Forbidden City” later.

Nowadays, the Forbidden City is also know as the Palace Museum. It was listed by UNESCO as a World Cultural Heritage Site in 1987, now is one of the most popular tourist attractions in China. Travel Tips to visit the Forbidden City

Opening time:
Apr.1st – Oct.31st: 8:30 – 16:00
Nov.1st – Mar.31st: 8:30 – 15:30
In order to protect and repair regularly the exhibition facilities and service facilities, it is closed on Mondays, except the statutory holidays and Summer Vacation from June 1st to August 31st.

Tickets:
Apr.1st – Oct.31st: 60 yuan
Nov.1st – Mar.31st: 40 yuan
Extra 10 yuan for Jewel Museum and Clock Museum.

Transportation:
Bus: take bus NO. 101, 103, 109, 124, 202 or 685 and get off at Gugong Station
Subway: take subway line 1 to Tiananmen West or Tiananmen East Station, then walk towards Tiananmen Tower to enter the Forbidden City.
